Blog

Monday, March 29th, 2004

Hello all, I have been playing around with the layout of this blog. I think I have resolved a long-standing problem of the calender sidebar, which sometimes over ran my diary entry. If you are still experiencing this problem can you please let me know, either by the comments option on this entry or by e-mail. Many thanks.

I have just finished my shift and am enjoying a few days off. Not much planned except on Wednesday the watch is hosting the games night in the infamous ‘Dog & Badger’. We will be doing a penguin racing, which is a hybrid of horse racing. This will be governed by the roll of a die (dice).
Also, I have been making study progress with my web-site. I have nearly finished the Hungary section, which took a while as I also wrote again their history which included time-taking maps.
Must go as I have 2 minutes left online!

My Easter parcel surpise

Saturday, March 27th, 2004

:) Yesterday I received a parcel from my Évi with loads of Easter goodies inside. It included some of the best tasting chocolate ever, I now must run twice a day to keep the pounds off! Of course I am saving some goodies for Easter itself, it wouldn’t be the same without. Évi also sent me some photograph’s which were excellent, its good to see what is going on back home as well as hear about it.
Hopefully Swindon Town and Forest Green Rovers will win today. Wonders will never cease!
Bye for now.

Stanley

Thursday, March 25th, 2004

Hello people, long time no see!
Stanley was not bad, good to get away and recharge my batteries. A few things have changed, it seems more lively than I remember. We stayed at the Malvina hotel, the room was not to bad, and had an evening meal there. The food was better than the muck I am used to at MPA, so that was good. We went to a few pubs after.
We also, during the day, had a good look around. Saw some penguins and dolphins, which was nice.
Next day we had Sunday lunch at the Upland Goose, we went for the Carvery and had 4 different slices of meat. Again, very nice! :P
Promise to write again soon.

Another inbetween day

Friday, March 19th, 2004

Why inbetween, well because I am inbetween nights. The good thing now is that I seem to be able to get some decent sleep. This may seem like a small thing, but when you have not had decent sleep for a while it really adds up!
Off to Stanley tomorrow, and looking forward to it. As they say, a change is as good as a rest.

When am I leaving?

Thursday, March 18th, 2004

Strange but true!
The last Timmy flight to the UK was minus 5 passengers who forgot they were flying home. One was even blissfully unaware at work. You pick up your return flight details only a few weeks before they are due to leave, must of made interesting news for their loved ones. :P
Off to Stanley for a night on Saturday, 6 of us are going so it should be fun. The only down side is I will be missing a 6-a-side football competition. But those are the breaks…
