News on my replacement is not good! I know who the person is, however the people who generate the drafting notices have not done so, and that person is on leave now. So until they send this paperwork to my replacement he cannot start to clear from his station and prepare for his forthcoming detachment. Also it means he cannot book his flight down here, which in turn means I cannot book my flight back to the UK. In short, I do not know when I will be coming back!

Hopefully things will be sorted very, very soon!

hello world! I have not written lately as my dear wife has been down here visiting me. We had a great time, and Éva has now an idea of what life is like down here now. Unfortunately the trip to Sea Lion Island never worked out as they had to retask the helicopter, but we still went to Stanley. Of course, in Stanley we visited Davis Street. Did you know that a Captain John Davis discovered the Falkland Islands and they bore the Davis name for a number of years?

Hello, sorry I have not written in a while but the Internet has been soooooooooooo slow recently that I have only just managed to check and respond to my e-mails within my alloted daily 40 minutes of Internet time. Évi will be arriving down here on Friday and I cannot wait. I have now managed to sort out everything, and she has been confirmed on the flight. She should easily get on as there are 60 spare seats at the moment. I have also managed to book a trip to Sea Lion Island on Sunday, this will be Évi’s first helicopter flight. I hope the weather is calm.

Must dash as I am doing the bar tonight. I will be the last 303 SU barman at the Dog and Badger.
