Bonfire night

Sunday, November 7th, 2004

Évi and I took a couple of friends to the local firework display last night. We had been looking forward to it as it has become a bit of a ritual going every year, eating the hotdogs and drinking the mulled wine. It was the fourth year we had been and we told our friends how good it is. Of course this had to lead to disappointment. The weather was wet but no so that it caused us any problems but it seemed to affect the fireworks as this was the most disjointed show yet with breaks of up to a few minutes between fireworks. I was embarrassed that we had invited them to the show. Still you live and learn.

Tomorrow I am travelling up to Boulmer for a few days for work reasons. Should be good to see a few old faces.

Hungarian car in Princes Risborough shocker!

Friday, November 5th, 2004

:O Well would you adam and eve it! Évi and I venture down to the amicable town of Princes Risborough to test the waters in the local swimming pool were we espy a vehicle from Évi’s home country. There it was parked as bold as brass in the car park just sitting there! what a cheek! Unfortunately there was no sight of the owners.

Good news!
A new series of ‘The Simpsons’ hits Channel 4 tonight. I cannot wait.

Tomorrow we are going to see the fireworks at Naphill weather permitting. It’s one thing Évi and I try to do annually - a bit of a tradition you could say.

Still no news of Mr Large, his Medina wine is looking tempting. Best he get in touch soon!

Bye for now.

Bristol

Monday, November 1st, 2004

Évi and I spent the weekend at my parents. On Sunday we ventured into Bristol to see the docks. Here we saw SS Great Britain, which I last saw down the Falklands, well the mast anyway. The rest of the ship was brought back to Bristol in 1970.
